PASTIMES

There are two gardens where you can spend time in a way that suits your mood.

A traditional Japanese garden that reflects natural and “sansui” landscapes through the placement of stones
and plants.
You may take a morning walk, stretch, do radio calisthenics, or enjoy traditional games such as hanetsuki.
Even stepping outside for a brief moment between activities to feel the breeze and sunlight can gently lift
your mood.

There is a private garden accessible directly from the Japanese-style room.
Following the stepping stones, you will find a tsukubai (a traditional Japanese washbasin) and a small resting
spot with a wooden bench and a low table.
You may take a short break between activities, or spend a quiet moment after dinner while looking at the moon and stars.
Enjoying a cup of tea in the clear air of early morning is also a gentle way to begin the day.
It is a place where you can take your time and enjoy a moment just for yourself.

A small library corner where you can choose what you like and spend time in your own way.

It includes collections ranging from traditional to modern Japanese art, as well as photo books that record
the landscapes and culture of Japan. You can quietly experience the beauty, sensibility, and changing times
of Japan.
During the break between experiences or in the quiet time after dinner, you can spend time slowly turning
the pages of a book.

Photo books and manga from the library corner may be taken to your room or the living room.

Within the library corner, there is a bookshelf dedicated to manga.
Our selection includes well-known titles such as Demon Slayer and To Your Eternity, as well as recent works like Oshi no Ko and Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End.
Demon Slayer and To Your Eternity are available in both Japanese and English editions.
During short breaks between experiences, or in the evening as you unwind,
you are welcome to enjoy reading them freely in the living room or in your room.

Photo books and manga from the library corner may be taken to your room or the living room.

Within the library corner, there is a selection of classic play items such as playing cards, jigsaw puzzles, koma spinning tops, ohajiki, daruma-otoshi, and origami.
You may enjoy them together with your companions, or spend a quiet moment focusing on a jigsaw puzzle or origami.
They can be enjoyed during a relaxed time after dinner.
If anything is unclear, like origami, just let us know.

If you are lucky, you may meet the three cats who live here.

There are three cats living in a room at the back of the house.
To prevent them from slipping out, the door to their room is usually kept locked, so they do not roam freely around the house.
However, at moments when the door is opened, they may wander into the hallway.
If you like cats, and the timing is right, you may be able to spend a little time with them or play together.
If you are not comfortable with cats or have allergies, we will return them to their room right away, so please feel free to let us know.
You may not always see them, but they sometimes appear on a whim.
This home is shared with these easygoing cats as well.
